Daffodil, the Chihuahua, was left in a cardboard box after her owner discovered she was born without her front paws. She lay sobbing in that soggy cardboard box on the streets of San Francisco for days.
People would pick her up but make a repulsive face and put her back down again when they saw her birth defect.
Daffodil was discovered to be in terrible condition and abandoned by a young man who promptly scooped her up and brought her to the SPCA.
The employees were hesitant about Daffodil’s chances of survival at first. But, after receiving love and attention, the puppy bloomed into a loving, lively youngster! Daffodil had no idea she was disabled; all she cared about was being loved by her carers!
The workers were charmed by Daffodil’s spunky personality and decided to look past her physical deformities. They even took special measurements of the puppy so they could make her a custom-fitted wheelchair!
In this video, we see Daffodil’s memorable first ride in her tiny wheelchair. She stumbles and falls, but there’s no looking back once she gets back up. What a fighter! The SPCA has also announced that one of Daffodil’s caretakers, Olivia, has agreed to be the spunky girl’s forever mom! Daffodil is enjoying being a mother to her little princess!
