Dumped Disabled Puppy Smiles Again After 12-Year-Old Boy Builds Her A Lego Wheelchair

Gracie was born with a birth defect that left her without front legs. She was found covered in maggots, missing hair under her eyes, and otherwise malnourished. Though we don’t know all the details of what Gracie went through before she was rescued, it’s clear that life ahead won’t be easy. Simply awful and we’ll never understand how people can treat animals in such a manner.

The Turley family, who run their own animal shelter, decided to adopt Gracie. They already had a paralyzed dog and a 3-legged Chihuahua– both of which sweet Gracie got along with perfectly. The Turley’s were anxious about Gracie’s mobility because she was still a puppy and couldn’t have a wheelchair fitting yet. Dylan, a 12-year-old volunteer, had a great solution.

He decided to construct a wheelchair out of Lego, one that can be re-adjusted with Gracie’s growth. This wonderful idea worked like magic, and Gracie was able to take her first steps without difficulty with the help of her unique Lego wheelchair!
