In a world where compassion and kindness should prevail, unfortunately there are many instances where human cruelty dominates.

Among the innocent victims, we often find dogs, creatures that are otherwise known for their unwavering loyalty and unconditional love.

Sadly, their dependence on humans typically makes them extremely vulnerable, especially when cold-hearted persons abandon them to fend for themselves in a merciless world.

Amid all neglect, abandonment, and cruelty, thankfully there are still stories of resilience and undying gratitude, which remind us that there is still hope and there are still people willing to make a difference.

On July 13, 2018, a good Samaritan named Jana Creel, from the USA, witnessed a group of dogs experiencing serious neglect, and she just couldn’t let it go.

She wrote, “I saw abandoned dogs for days with no food, water, or shelter, dying in 100 + degrees. They were tied up on two-foot chains, not able to move. I waited to see if someone would help them, and I couldn’t sleep at night, so I saved them.”

It is unknown who left them there to die, but it must have been someone without any love in their heart.

Thankfully, Jana found herself in the right place at the right time and all of the dogs were saved.

Most people would hold grudges against those who do them harm, but not dogs.

Even after everything their previous owners put them through, those pups were still capable of love, and they did not lose hope in humanity.

Jana posted a video of one of her newly-rescued dogs, which sat on the front seat of her car as she drove from the location where they were abandoned.

She wrote, “Minutes after, one of the dogs reached for my hand multiple times, wanting affection. It broke my heart that he’d been neglected and was dying, and wasn’t mad at me, but grateful.”

Despite all the trauma and almost dying, all this poor dog wanted was to be loved… just a little bit of affection. This broke Jana’s heart, and she started crying while simultaneously trying to comfort a poor pup by saying, “It’ll be ok… it’ll be ok.”

Seeing how distressed the girl was, this dog now tried to comfort her. With eyes full of love, the dog started to pet her back and hug her arm.

Jana continued by saying, “I started to cry, and again, his focus shifted from himself to now my needs. I couldn’t believe so much love came from an animal that literally just came from a situation like he was in.”

Soon, the dog was climbing into Jana’s lap to snuggle up against her.

His dirty and disheveled appearance was proof of everything bad the humans did to him, but beneath all that was a beautiful heart full of hope and love for his new rescuer.

Jana was so amazed by the whole interaction that she decided to post the video on ViralHog.

This video is a true example of how amazing dogs truly are, but it is also proof that there are still people out there who do good deeds.

This dog’s unwavering loyalty and the extraordinary ways he showed gratitude remind us that hope and compassion can still prevail.
